Many people think the finance industry is simply a numbers game. But to Laurie O’Brien, it’s so much more than that. It’s about people first and foremost. Laurie’s passion is using his almost three decades of banking and finance industry experience to help people achieve their personal and business goals in life.
Having worked in banking and finance his entire working life and as a finance broker since 1985, Laurie has a level of experience and knowledge unmatched by most in his profession. Laurie’s background in equipment and business finance has given him a unique insight into the under-writing procedures used by commercial lenders. This insight enables him to judge each application for finance from the lender’s perspective. As a result, Laurie works closely with his clients to ensure the finance proposal he submits on their behalf will satisfy the requirements of the lender. Should there be any concern, he makes it a point to work closely with his client until their finance is approved. In addition to Laurie’s industry experience, he also holds qualifications in Financial Management and a Diploma of Financial Services.
With access to a large range of Australian lenders and loan products, Laurie works hard to secure the best financial solution to suit his clients’ needs, no matter how large or small their business. Laurie’s services cover the full range of commercial loans, leasing and equipment financing as well as specialised equipment rental options for schools and colleges. He has sourced financial solutions for thousands of clients on the Central Coast and all over Australia.
The philosophy at Bridgecoast Finance is simple – to act as their clients’ partners in finance and support them every step of the way. As a result, Laurie and the team take the time to get to know each client and their business well before recommending the best finance options. This can result in significantly improved cash flow and the potential to save them a fortune in unnecessary fees and interest. And because circumstances and needs change over time, Laurie makes it a point to personally stay in touch with every client he looks after. In fact, many of his clients have been with him for years. Because he knows each client and their circumstances exceptionally well, often a phone call is all that’s needed to get the ball rolling for a new finance application.
As passionate about the Central Coast community as he is about his business, Laurie is an active Gosford City Rotarian and is also on the Board of two local not-for-profit organisations - Coast Shelter and The Haven Education Centre. First introduced to Wild Fig by Karen Evans (Trilogy Professional Group) and Kellie Hassab (Trehy Ingold Neate), Laurie’s decision to join Wild Fig was made easy, not only because of the high calibre of its members, but also due to the support given by the alliance to organisations like Coast Shelter and The Haven Education Centre.
